HOK Miami

This HOK office space houses a reception area, open office area with twenty workstations, a library, conference room, kitchenette and two executive offices. The layout of the space maximizes day lighting.

Installed finishes include carpet tile and stone flooring, Fry Reglet stainless steel column covers, Modernfold foldable glass partitions, frosted glass partitions, sound-absorbing cloud ceilings by Armstrong, metal ceilings, light and display walls, Corian solid surfaces and aluminum reveals in select drywall walls. Work also included entirely new MEP Systems and Cat-6 data cabling.

The AEC team selected all materials and systems to fulfill LEED certification requirements. The materials are renewable recycled, low-VOC emitting and locally sourced. The wood was certified as sourced from a sustainably managed forest. The non-CFC HVAC system maximizes energy efficiency and measures and displays C02 levels.

In the pre-construction phase, the Mc Gowan team performed a value engineering analysis of materials and equipment that improved the efficiency of the mechanical system and reduced the cost of the project by nearly 20%.

In Mc Gowan's continuing commitment to environmentally responsible construction practices, the HOK office space received LEED certification.

The project was successfully completed in eight weeks.
