Cooke Center for Learning & Development

Cooke Institute partners with NYC public, non-public, and charter schools in underserved communities. The Cooke Center for Learning and Development will be a new ground-up 4-story building in Manhattan serving approximately 300 students ages 5 through 21.

Pre-construction involved the demolition and abatement of an existing one-story building. The new state-of-the-art facility includes separate wings for the Cooke Center Grammar School and the Academy (high school).  The building also includes shared spaces such as a gymnasium, cafeteria, a yoga/movement center, a science lab, a tech lab, art and music studios, an outdoor roof play space and an administrative office.

Finishes include architectural metals, custom millwork, exterior metal panels, roof pavers, exterior windows & curtain wall, glass partitions & railings, skylights, ACT, wood & gypsum ceilings,  ceramic tile & stone,  carpet & lineoleum flooring, gym flooring, acoustical coatings, barriers & baswaphon ceilings, and painting throughout.

Specialties include new gymnasium equipment, tackboards, fabric panels & markerboards, smartboards, lockers, folding partitions, kitchen equipment, appliances, and window treatment.
